Holiday Season Message – 2025

As the year comes to a close, the National Sixties Scoop Healing Foundation of Canada pauses to reflect on the strength, resilience, and courage of Sixties Scoop Survivors, their families, and descendants across the country.

The holiday season can bring moments of connection and joy, but it can also surface grief, longing, and complex emotions—especially for those whose family ties and cultural connections were disrupted by the Sixties Scoop. We honour all of these experiences and hold space for each person’s journey, knowing that healing is not linear and looks different for everyone.

Throughout 2025, we have witnessed powerful acts of community care, storytelling, cultural revitalization, and intergenerational healing led by Survivors and Indigenous communities. These efforts continue to affirm the importance of Indigenous-led, survivor-informed approaches rooted in culture, ceremony, and lived experience.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Survivors, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, youth, community partners, and supporters who continue to walk alongside this work with respect and commitment. Your voices, leadership, and generosity of spirit strengthen our collective path forward.

From the board of directors and staff at the National Sixties Scoop Healing Foundation of Canada, we wish you a gentle holiday season and a new year filled with care, reflection, and renewed strength.
